Model cars
Modelcars are the closest connection between a Lifestyle Collection and the real cars. The first automobile was invented by Carl F. Benz on January 27th, 1886. Only a couple of years later (1920s) the first model cars -made out of tin- came to the market. Dinky Toys was one of the first manufacturer for Die-Cast models.
Dinky Toys and later Märklin invented the scale HO (USA), H0 (Europe) and 1/4 inch (Great Britain).
In the 1960s/1970s the manufacturer changed the material from tin to plastic.
The 1:43 scale was the main scale in this time and is replaced by larger scales such as 1:24, 1:18, 1:12, 1:8 or larger over the time. 1:18 become the main scale in the 1990s, but due to storage issues at the collectors home 1:43 was never completely over.
